Small_Q02 E-rate Filing Assistance

Beginning with the Technology Plan and yearly Student Economic Status (SES) report, to filing 470s, 471s, 486, 472 or 474 and receiving discounts, E-rate can be a daunting task. RUSD received 65% tier one discounts from E-rate and filed and was awarded 81% discounts for internal connections twice in the last five years. We will help you by creating a process to file and receive E-rate discounts that will reduce your telecommunications costs monthly. Clear record keeping and a systematic approach help to simplify E-rate filings. Since increasing a schools SES count increases the available discount, part of our service is to help schools identify and properly count students. We can help to build strong ties with telecommunications providers and obtain monthly E-rate discounts.

Who is E-rate?
Universal Service Administration Company (USAC) administers the Universal Service Fund providing communities across America with affordable telecommunications services. The Schools and Libraries Program of the Universal Service Fund, commonly known as "E-Rate," is administered by the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) under the direction of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and provides discounts to assist most schools and libraries in the United States to obtain affordable telecommunications and Internet access.

E-rate Process
The E-rate process is a bit involved, however, it can save a School or School District a considerable amount of money when applied properly. Click here for a more detailed PDF on the E-rate process.
